Depending on the operation you are getting, there are some variations. But normally you may need a regular follow-up treatment at the outpatient clinic for at least 2 weeks after surgery. After that, we will take all your stitches off so you can go back to your country again.

Even after you go back, you still have to be careful of your ears because the ear still need more time to recover. Taking a shower or normal daily activity (including jogging or working out) is fine, but ears being stretched or being squished for a long time could make permanent changes to the ear shape at this period. You may need at least 3 months for the ears to be stabilized.

It is always better to come back after 3 months in order to confirm that the ears have been healed well and you are good to go. But sometimes if it is not easy for you to come back, we take an E-mail with your photo to check if there is anything wrong.

Most of the ear surgery you are getting will not need an admission; which includes prominent ears, earlobe surgeries or constricted ears. But microtia patients or cryptotia patients will need about 7 to 10 days of admission after the surgery. Additional 7 to 10 days of outpatient clinic follow-up treatment may be needed after discharge.

If you are planning on getting a microtia ear reconstruction surgery, you may need a longer period of time before you go back home.
